چکیده

The aim of the research was to investigate antibacterial activities and phytochemical properties aqueous ethanolic extracts Mango (Mangifera indica) Neem (Azadirachta leaves, on clinical isolates Salmonella typhi, paratyphi A, B C, in Lafia, Nigeria. agar well diffusion technique used analyses were done triplicates. At highest extract concentration 80 mg/ml, S. showed inhibition zones 29.4±0.1mm 30.0±0.01 mm respectively, while exhibited 14.4±0.2, 21.2±0.4, 13.4±0.1 18.0±0.03, 20.0±0.04, 21.0±0.04 mm, respectively. lower 10 8.4±0.01 9.0±0.1 9.5±0.01, 9.1±0.01, 6.2±0.01 9.0±0.01, 9.0±0.01 respectively leaf extract. MIC MBC, against organisms 2.5 5.0 qualitative results presence alkaloids, anthraquinones, carbohydrates, cardiac glycosides, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids saponins. Conclusively, studied medicinal plant bactericidal all tested organisms, this supports claim by traditional medical practitioners vendors use plants for cure typhoid fever. Further studies are recommended toxicity safe dosage regimen since infusion is taken orally people   Key words: fever, constituents, bacteria, plants.

Molecular Typing of Salmonella paratyphi B and Salmonella paratyphi C Isolates from Clinical Samples in Iran

Background & Objective: Molecular typing is an important tool in surveillance and outbreak investigations of human Salmonella infections. In this study, Subtyping of Salmonella Paratyphi B and C isolates derived from Iranian patients was carried out by RAPD-PCR to assess the extent of genetic diversity of these isolates. Materials & Methods: Fourteen Salmonella isolates including 6 strains of S...

Salmonella paratyphi C: Genetic Divergence from Salmonella choleraesuis and Pathogenic Convergence with Salmonella typhi

BACKGROUND Although over 1400 Salmonella serovars cause usually self-limited gastroenteritis in humans, a few, e.g., Salmonella typhi and S. paratyphi C, cause typhoid, a potentially fatal systemic infection. It is not known whether the typhoid agents have evolved from a common ancestor (by divergent processes) or acquired similar pathogenic traits independently (by convergent processes). Compa...

PCR method to identify Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi, Paratyphi A, and Paratyphi B among Salmonella Isolates from the blood of patients with clinical enteric fever.

PCR methodology was developed to identify Salmonella enterica serovars Typhi, Paratyphi A, and Paratyphi B. One multiplex PCR identifies serogroup D, A, and B and Vi-positive strains; another confirms flagellar antigen "d," "a," or "b." Blinded testing of 664 Malian and Chilean Salmonella blood isolates demonstrated 100% sensitivity and specificity.
